Johnson Fain was selected by the public/private partnership of the City of Fullerton Redevelopment Agency and JMI Realty/ Morgan development team to plan and develop a Master Plan for the Fullerton Transportation Center, a 35-acre transit-oriented district anchored by the multimodal Fullerton Depot.  This Transit Oriented District will leverage current and future transit ridership to create a vibrant mixed-use district in downtown Fullerton with new housing and commercial development to complement existing uses and will also include provisions for pedestrian, bicycle, bus and automobile access to and from the site.

Johnson Fain developed several alternatives for the site before identifying the final development strategy and led a series of community workshops to draft public goals and objectives, while developing consensus for the project.  The workshops included interactive planning exercises to illustrate planning constraints and opportunities along with discussion of community priorities for the site all resulting in the establishment of the fundamental framework of development on the site.  A form-based code will be implemented to codify the development standards and guidelines that will govern the implementation phase of the project.
